Meet Some Neighbours:
.
Justine used to work at the R.S.P.C.A.
Her dog Cracker, is a D.I.N.O.S.
(Dog In Need Of Space)
Cracker has been savagely attacked by off-leash dogs.
Cracker just NEEDS to walk calmly on-leash close to Justine.
There's also Archie.
Archie's dog Bronson gets attacked by off-leash dogs.
Bronson is a D.I.N.O.S.
And Archie is 84 years old.
Alan and Buddy
After Alan had a life saving operation he decided to enrich his life by adopting Buddy.
Buddy is a D.I.N.O.S.
Both Buddy and Alan are sensitive souls.
It is IMPERATIVE that this team are not harassed by off-leash dogs.
Angela and Baxter
Nobody loves their fur child as much as this couple love each other.
When out on the residential pathway it is imperative that Angela and Baxter are SAFE.
As Angela says,
This footpath is our home.
Residents, particularly those of us with disabilities have the right to feel safe.
This issue is about preventing animal cruelty to my dog who wants to be left alone!.
Josh and Chuckie
Chuckie is only a little fellow.
Off-leash dogs are frightening to both of us.
Chuckie is my baby.
Walking him on his leash is fun!
People who think that they are are above the leash laws cause us a lot of distress.
Codie and Rommy
Rommy came from an horrendous past of neglect and abuse.
Rommy was a "training-bait" dog.
(used as live bait for training illegal fighting dogs to become more vicious)
It takes a special person to care for a dog that has been repeatedly traumatized to the brink.
Just like Cracker, Rommy's special care will be required long term.
Rommy just needs to enjoy her walks calmly minding her own business close by Codie's side.
Jude and Lex
Jude died on 8th June 2020.
Her guide dog Lex had been attacked by off-leash dogs over 300 times.
In the end, Lex was so traumatized that he lost his confidence and could no longer guide Jude safely.
Lex had to be surrendered.
The Major Depression that Jude suffered was devastating.
One of the contributing factors to Jude's death was dying from a broken heart.
To those who think that walking their dog off-leash in a residential area is a victim-less crime....
It isn't.
The Leash Laws provide the same function as The Traffic Laws.
When you hop in your car.
You click on your seatbelt.
Before you and your dog exit your front door.
You clip on their leash.
Its Courtesy to stay in your own lane.
Its Safety not to let your dog lunge or chase into the personal space of others.
Because
At Any Time Of The Day or Night
24 / 7
Maybe you think that no one is watching...
Its a guarantee that somebody is.
